The Problem
In Senegal, most construction sites suffer from budget and time overruns due to insufficient monitoring and fragmented communication between clients, contractors, and architects. Project owners living abroad (diaspora) have no real visibility into the actual progress of their construction. Disputes and fraud are common in the absence of documented evidence.
The Opportunity
The construction sector is growing at 8% per year in Senegal, driven by the Senegal Emerging Plan. The Senegalese diaspora invests over 400 billion FCFA per year in construction. No local digital construction monitoring solution is yet dominant in this market.
The Concept
BâtiSmart is a mobile app (iOS/Android) that allows project owners to monitor their site remotely via daily photo-video reports, a financial dashboard, and an interactive Gantt chart. Contractors submit progress reports via the app; clients validate milestones and release milestone payments. An alert system notifies any budget or schedule overrun. A monthly PDF report is automatically generated for banks and insurers.
